Chemical Wizardry with Dan Weissman

Get ready for a fun-filled “magical” laboratory experience Harry Potter style. Each child at our program will have fun making our favorite chemical concoctions! Enjoy making Flubber, “Instant” Snow, Super Hi- Bounce balls, and more. Have fun making light inside of a glow bottle, a Lava Lamp “like” creation, and more. We will also demonstrate the Big Bang Cannon, Magic Genie in the bottle, Elephant toothpaste, color changes, and more. All campers will take home recipe booklet and all hands-on projects. Ages 6-12. Please register every individual who will attend.

Summer Science Camps 2025

Week 1: June 23-27, 9:00-12:00 Daily Architecture & Engineering (Ages 7-13)

Architecture and engineering are the focus of this program. Design and build towers, bridges and a wide array of architecture projects. Have fun building famous LEGO brick models and architectural designs from around the world. Make a balsa wood bridge and test it to see how much it can hold. Learn about scale, the forces that act on structures, and engineering concepts. Take home a complete project book of ideas.

Week 1: June 23-27, 12:30-3:30 Daily STEAM Challenges – Ages 7-12

In this engineering camp, you will have fun integrating Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics ny building and designing a wide range of gadgets, inventive machines, towers, crazy contraptions, and more. We have many new challenges to add in 2025.  Take home a sampling of different projects from our program.  Fee: $159.00

Week 2: June 30-July 3, 9:00-12:00 Daily  NEW - Science Explorers (Ages 5-10)

Calling all Science Explorers, come create, build and use your imagination! In this new program, we will focus on many different science themes.   Perform chemistry experiments.  Build with a large selection of Lego and electronic components.  Construct a robot.  Create science - themed art projects.   Design & build towers, bridges, and more.  Take home a sampling of projects and experiments from the week.  Fee: $130.00 No class Friday, July 4!

Week 2: June 30-July 3, 12:30-3:30 Daily NEW- YOU BUILD IT! AGES 5-10

In this new program, young minds will explore real world problems and use the engineering design process to solve them. Participants will explore a variety of engineering challenges and work together with other children to design a solution. Projects include building a marble-maze roller coaster, designing an earthquake proof structure and testing it on a shake-table. experimenting with the physics of Hot Wheel cars, airplanes, and more, Fee: $130.00 No class Friday, July 4!

Week 3: July 7-11, 9:00-12:00 Daily Lego Building & Machines (Ages 6-12)

Lego Builders Unite! Build your favorite adventure from the many themes that LEGO has to offer! Lego Architecture, Star Wars, City, Friends, Creator, Technic, and more. We will have many age-appropriate models to choose from. Students will also build Lego models and program them on the computer. All students will take home a Lego model made in class!  Fee $159.00

Week 3: July 7-11, 12:30-3:30 Daily Chemical Wizardry (Ages 6-12)

Our favorite experiments combined into one super class of science! Get ready for a fun- filled “magical” laboratory experience Harry Potter style! This class is an introduction to chemistry. In addition to learning about atoms, bonding, and the periodic table, you will enjoy making Flubber, Silly Putty, high-Bounce balls, play dough, glowing goo, and even a tye-dye style Sharpie shirt. We will also demonstrate the big-bang cannon, elephant toothpaste, the “Mushroom Monster,” and more. Take home a chemistry kit and a recipe booklet. Fee $159.00

Week 4: July 14-18, 9:00-12:00 Daily Diggin’ for Dinosaurs (Ages 6-11)

Discover the exciting science of paleontology as you excavate and assemble complete skeletal replicas from simulated fossilized rock. Dig for dinosaurs, make fossil replicas of dinosaur teeth, claws, and more. Build an erupting volcano. Analyze a wide range of rock and mineral specimens. Take home a unique mini-collection of rocks & minerals, & fossils. Fee: $159.00

Week 4: July 14-18, 12:30-3:30 Daily Mini-Bots, Battle-Bots & Robotic Fun (Ages 7-12)

Construct a wide range of robot projects throughout the week. Projects will include: a Battle-Bot competition, robot tug-o’war, Olympic competition, soccer match, giant ramp race, and Mission to Mars robot challenge. Then have fun coding with our tiny robots – Sphero Mini & Bolt, Ozobot, and a collection of other unique programmable robots.  All students will take home a robot kit. Fee: 159.00

Week 5: July 21-25, 9:00-12:00 Daily Fun with Physics (Ages 7-12)

Perform magical physics demonstrations involving Newton’s laws of motion, electricity, air-pressure, ultraviolet light, optics, and more. Build a solar-powered car, experiment with spinning tops, gyroscopic motion, & principles of flight. Construct a catapult, fountain, and more. Take home a gyroscope, solar car, catapult, Tippe Top, fountain, homemade binoculars and more.  Fee: $159.00

Week 5: July 21-25, 12:30-3:30 Daily NEW - Flight, Mini Drones, & Rocketry (Ages 7-12)

Learn about the science of flight as you take to the skies with mini drones, flying gadgets, rockets, airplanes, and more! Campers will experiment with paper planes, flying gadgets, rockets, physics toys, balloon cars, and much more. All students will take home a mini drone, airplane, and other projects made in class. Fee: 159.00

Week 6: July 28 -August 1, 12:30-3:30 NEW - Super Science Make & Take Ages 6-12

In this program, we will make a variety of fun science toys that are designed to teach you about how things work. All of the projects in the program can be taken home though the week. Create a working tornado in a bottle. Construct a battery powered electric motor, build a working bubble machine, a doodling robot, and a gooey batch of glowing slime. Build a spy scope as you learn about light and lenses. So many science projects and so much science learning. This hands-on learning environment will make learning fun. Fee: $159.00

Week 6: July 28-August 1, 9:00-12:00 Daily New - Junior Physicians – Discovering the Human Body  (Ages 7-12)

Discover the anatomy of the world’s most complicated system – the human body! In this program, kids will find out what it’s like to journey through the human body. Explore the science behind blood, bones, the brain, and all of the different human body systems. Participants will test for blood types, make a map of their tongue, perform simulated heart and brain surgery, build a model of the brain, and more.  Fee $159.00

Week 7: August 4-8, 12:30-3:30 Daily Mini-Bots, Battle-Bots & Robotic Fun (Ages 7-12)

NEW- In this camp, young scientists will explore a host of science and art-oriented activities designed to bring out their inner artist, and, at the same time, teach them about important science concepts. Projects include making a CD spinner, a Sharpie Shirt, building a pair of binoculars, playing with 3-d pens, making a homemade instrument, painting, and more. Science concepts include light and color, sound, optical illusions, and much more. Most of our art & science projects can be taken home including a 3-d pen. Fee: $159.00

Week 8 Lego Building & Machines, 12:30-3:30 Daily (Ages 6-12)
